Cambodia Trip - FULL
CCV is proud to partner with Rapha House – a ministry dedicated to advocacy, restoration, and healing for girls who have been sexually exploited. On this trip you will get first hand look at the issues that contribute to human trafficking, the history and culture of Cambodia, and what Rapha House is doing to change the culture of sexual brokenness. The team will tour their facilities, meet their staff and get to do some work with the girls themselves – devotions, crafts, etc.
Trip Dates: May 22 – June 3, 2017
Trip Leader: Kenny Rickard, CCV Staff
Who can go?
This trip is ideal for those who have a heart and passion for women, the exploited, rehabilitation, and sexual healing! Singles, couples, retirees, college students! Adults over 18 must pass a Background Check/Volunteer Screening as a requirement, and all participants must have valid passport and be physically able to walk and hike. No participant under age 18 will be accepted on this trip.
Team Meetings - The team will gather for team meetings to do logistical and project prep but also training on cross-cultural ministry and spiritual prep. SAVE THE DATES: All teams will meet on Saturday afternoons, April 8, April 22, May 13 and then your team will meet another time or two in between there for more specific training!
Requirements: Each participant who signs up will be asked to attend CCV's Starting Point class (if you haven't already been) and submit a full volunteer application with background check, references, and interview. This will be initiated after you have signed up for the trip and is not an "application" indicating whether you can attend or not. They are purely steps in the preparation process. Each team member will also be required to attend all pre-trip preparation meetings. Rapha House also has their own background check and screening process. Once you are registered you will begin this process.
Trip Cost: $3000 per person
Included in this fee: Airfare from Phoenix to Cambodia, accommodations, transportation and meals while in country. This also cover medical insurance, visa fee, luggage fees, and pre-trip materials.
Not included: Passport fees, any shots you elect to get, hotel incidentals you incur, and any personal spending money for meals during travel and souvenirs.
$500 deposit per person is non-refundable at the time of registration. If a cancellation is made after airline tickets have been purchased you will be responsible for the cost of the ticket.
Final Balance is due by May 8, 2017.
We absolutely encourage fundraising. Very few people pay for the trip on their own. Number 1 way is to send support letters. Tell your friends and family about the trip, share with them the ministry, and ask them to donate. Number 2 way is to put in some hard work and do garage sales and car washes, get together with other team members to make a bigger impact. You will talk about this when you get together as a team. Any donations made to CCV for your trip are tax deductible for the donor as long as they follow the instructions and give online or use the Covenant Form!
