Mission Trip - Dominican Republic

Come on, CCV.  Let's go to Dominican Republic and see the impact that's being made long term through New Missions. We can contribute for a week, but making a lasting impression on the lives of men and women and families in material poverty - and they'll teach us something powerful. New Missions has served Haiti and Dominican Republic for over 30 years and are seeing incredible fruit and growth for two countries on the rise!

Basic Information:

Trip Dates: March 16-24, 2018

 REGISTRATION:  You can register by clicking the red "Register" button to the left. Registration deadline is January 5, 2018 at midnight.

Who can go?

This trip is ideal for anyone! Singles, couples, whole families! Adults over 18 must pass a Background Check/Volunteer Screening as a requirement, and all participants must have valid passport and be physically able to walk and hike. Minimum age for a child traveling WITH a parent/guardian should be 12. Please contact us before registering children under 12. For minors wanting to travel without a parent, please contact us before registering. 

Team Meetings - The team will gather for team meetings to do logistical and project prep but also training on cross-cultural ministry and spiritual prep. SAVE THE DATES: January 20, February 3, February 17.

Requirements: Each participant who signs up will be asked to attend CCV's Starting Point class (if you haven't already been) and submit a full volunteer application with background check, references, and interview. This will be initiated after you have signed up for the trip and is not an "application" indicating whether you can attend or not. They are purely steps in the preparation process. Each team member will also be required to attend all pre-trip preparation meetings.

Trip Cost: $1800 per person

Included in this fee: Airfare from Phoenix to Puerto Plata, accommodations, transportation and meals while in country.  This also cover medical insurance, visa fee, luggage fees, and pre-trip materials.

Not included: Passport fees, any shots you elect to get, and any personal spending money for meals during travel and souvenirs.

$150 deposit per person is non-refundable at the time of registration. If a cancellation is made after airline tickets have been purchased you will be responsible for the cost of the ticket.

Final Balance is due  by March 9, 2018.

We absolutely encourage fundraising. Very few people pay for the trip on their own. Number 1 way is to share this opportunity with your friends and family and ask them to participate with you by helping you get there!

Where will we be staying?

You will stay at a hotel in Sosua. You will be responsible for any incidental expenses you incur.

Do I need a passport?

A Valid passport is required for all participants. Passport cannot expire within 6 months of the trip's return date and cannot be damaged in any way. Please visit travel.state.gov for up to date information and to apply or renew. 

Do I need to get any shots? Where can I get shots?

Please visit cdc.gov/travel for up to date vaccination requirements for your destination. All shots are recommended and not required. There are lots of great travel clinics in the valley to get your shots - World Travel Health, Passport Health, Walgreens, even Costco will do travel vaccinations!

Do I need a Visa?  How do I get it?

A visa is not required for those who have a valid USA passport that doesn't require within 6 months.

This registration process will take about 10-20 minutes to fill out. Please allow enough time to complete the whole process which will include requiring current passport information and medical insurance information.

A $150 deposit non-refundable per person is required with this registration.

**Please be advised: It is CCV policy that a Volunteer application and Background Screening must be passed by every participant on this trip. If you have any reason to believe you may not pass, please hold off on registering and placing your non-refundable deposit.

Terms and Conditions: By registering for this trip and paying the non-refundable deposit at this time, you are also committed to joining the team, attending the required team meetings, and paying the remainder of the cost of the trip before the trip's departure date. Failure to comply with these terms, completing the volunteer application process or attending the trainings gives CCV the freedom to ask you to not participate in the trip. The trip leader reserves the right to ask any participant to not participate if they feel the integrity of the trip is in jeopardy. If the trip participant backs out of the trip after airline tickets have been purchased in their name, they will still owe CCV for the cost of that ticket. If a participant is asked to end their trip early, they will travel home at their own cost.
