One Day Mission Trip - Phoenix
God is bringing the unreached from around the world to our doorsteps. Thousands of people come to Arizona each year on refugee or resettlement status… many are from Unreached People Groups (UPGs).
In Partnership with a local ministry – GoTEN Ministries, this one day mission trip is a full day of cross-cultural experiences that will help you discover other faiths and the people who follow them. Leave your passport at home; God is bringing people to us!
Our goal is that after this experience, you feel equipped and ready to engage with international people more in your daily life, engage this ministry further, take a next step to engage international people in our community, or go on a mission trip!
We will meet as a team at an apartment complex off of Indian School and 19th Ave. The day will begin at 9am and go through 4pm. We can help do some carpooling if you need it!
Who can Participate in this one day experience?
This one day experience is open to individuals, students, retirees, families, neighborhood groups, etc. Prefer adults age 16yo + due to the nature of the interaction on the trip.
What Does it Cost?
The cost is $30 per person per day. The fee includes lunch and snacks.
What will we do?
You will engage your head, heart and hands as you discover.
Head – A GoTEN staff member will lead you through a process of learning. The first half of the day will be spent at the GoTEN training center with education on the refugee intake process, the world displacement problem, and national statistics.
Heart – We will introduce you to our international friends. Their kindness and hospitality will overwhelm you. We will meet internationals among their community and perhaps be invited into a home as a guest!
Hands – GoTEN will lead you to places you would probably not go on your own. You will participate in mission activities that you would normally do on a short-term mission trip in another country like help with our ESL class, deliver furniture, any project that needs done that day!
Day will be a mix of learning - about unreached peoples, the refugee process, God's plan globally - and doing - English classes with refugees, service projects, home visits, etc. Each One Day is a little different based on what the needs and events are that day.
