A Message From Senior Pastor, Don Wilson
Dear Members and Friends,
Almost 35 years ago, Sue and I started Christ’s Church of the Valley in the living room of our home. It was the beginning of a journey with God, and with you, that we could not have anticipated. It has been an incredible blessing to be your Senior Pastor and to watch God grow this ministry into the church that it is today.
This weekend I announced my plans to step out of my role as Senior Pastor at CCV before the year’s end. My decision to retire at this time is the culmination of many prayers and much planning. Sue and I feel led to devote more time toward developing Pastors around the country. We are excited to spend some time traveling and pouring into church leaders that need some encouragement and guidance. CCV is thriving, God is blessing, and the future of this church is secure. It is for all of these reasons that I choose now to step into this new calling and turn leadership of CCV over to a new generation.
Based on my recommendation, and with the Elders endorsement, Ashley Wooldridge will assume the role of Senior Pastor of Christ’s Church of the Valley beginning November 1, 2017. Ashley has been on staff at CCV for over 10 years as an Executive Pastor, and has been a part of the Teaching Team for the last 3 years. I am confident Ashley can lead CCV to reach this valley for Christ.
I will continue to preach at CCV throughout 2017, and will have an ongoing pastoral and consultative relationship with Ashley and the Elders as needed.
Words cannot express the gratitude and love Sue and I feel toward each of you. I have been honored to be your Senior Pastor for over three and half decades. May God continue to bless you in all you do.
Keep making a difference,
